We will be conducting a thorough analysis of a real-life disaster to ensure we all have the tools and awareness to prevent similar situations. \nA Deep Dive into the N5656M Disaster \nOur discussion on Tuesday\, August 12\, 2025\, at 6:00 p.m. at the Centennial Training Center will center on the unfortunate accident that occurred on July 7\, 2025\, involving a G3 Cirrus (N5656M) that took off from Merritt Island\, Florida. This VFR flight\, carrying four family members\, ended tragically when the aircraft crashed. \nBased on the preliminary NTSB report\, the pilot experienced multiple mechanical issues\, including communication and electrical problems\, yet continued the flight\, bypassing several safe landing options. The investigation noted that the aircraft’s left fuel tank was empty and the CAPS pin was still installed\, indicating that the emergency parachute had not been deployed. \nThis incident serves as a profound and somber reminder of how a series of questionable ADM choices can lead to a catastrophic outcome. We will analyze the sequence of events\, discussing key decision points and exploring how different choices could have changed the flight’s outcome. \nAttending this meeting is a valuable opportunity for all pilots to learn from this event and sharpen their ADM skills. DESCRIPTION:Last year’s Balloon Fiesta fly-out was such a hit\, we’re doing it again! We’ll depart Denver on Wednesday\, October 11\, and arrive in Santa Fe\, NM. \nAgenda\nWednesday\, October 11\nWe will depart as a group late Wednesday morning from Independence Aviation and fly to Santa Fe. Everyone will check in to the historic La Fonda on the Plaza Hotel in the early afternoon and walk around the town. La Fonda is the only Santa Fe hotel situated on the historic Plaza\, sitting on a coveted location that is said to have hosted an inn since the 1600s. There are plenty of shops to walk around and enjoy in addition to art and history tours. Monday evening we will have a group dinner at one of the local restaurants. Continue the fun after dinner before settling in for the night \nThursday\, October 12\nMorning departure for the Balloon Fiesta in a private charter bus. All Balloon Fiesta tickets are included. At the Balloon Fiesta\, the lineup of events is Dawn Patrol\, Special Shape Rodeo\, Balloon Launch\, Fly In Competition Launch\, and Chainsaw Carving Exhibition among many other shows. Return in the afternoon/evening. Free evening to walk around Santa Fe before a group dinner sponsored by Cirrus. \nFriday\, October 13\nFriday mid-morning\, everyone will check out and fly home. This is the most of any other ski resorts in the Rockies for snow and is perfect for a quick ski trip. \nEven if you don’t ski\, you’ll still want to join us on the fly-out and experience Jackson Hole in the winter. The downtown activities and attractions in addition to skiing are endless\, and this is an excellent way to build relationships with other Independence Aviation members. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n\nMonday\, March 27\n\n\n\n\n\nWe will depart as a group in the late morning Monday morning from Independence Aviation and fly to Jackson Hole. Everyone will check in to the Wort Hotel in the early afternoon and walk around the town. Monday evening we will have a group dinner at the Silver Dollar Bar & Grill. Continue the fun after dinner with drinks at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar before retiring for the night. \n\n\n\n\n\nTuesday\, March 28\n\n\n\n\n\nWe have transportation at 8:30 a.m. taking everyone to the mountain to ski. We can arrange for ski rentals if you don’t bring your own skis.
